So in class last week we did some creative hair construction using different means to build up the hair, these styles are very avant garde! Primarily the materials we used were polystyrene shapes and crepe hair, these are very light and means the hair can be held high on the head and wont sag. Crepe hair can also be used as a filler with the right colours to hide any patches. The shapes just have to be manipulated to get the desire affect. I can not wait to play around with these new learned techniques!
This week in class we did wig work, I have done it in the past so already had a good idea of how to pin curl and wrap the hair to keep the hair as flat as possible for the application of the wigs. My model has very long, thick and heavy hair so instead of pin curling we had to french plait as it would cause the hair to be too high from the head and mean the wig would not sit perfectly. The cap keeps the hair in place and also stops the head perspiring through onto the wig.
